CALGARY, AB – The Country Hills Classic, formally the Rick Tabaracci Golf Classic, has teamed up with Flames defenceman Cory Sarich in its first year to present the Country Hills Classic Hosted by the Mavericks with Honourary Chair Cory Sarich.

The charity golf tournament which benefits the Flames Foundation for Life and Children’s Link Society takes place Tuesday, June 15th.

“I am extremely honoured to be involved in this golf tournament. Not only does it have a rich history but it supports two charities I feel strongly about,” says Sarich. “I’m looking forward to a great day.”

In his first year as tournament chair Sarich, and the sold out tournament with over 270 participants, will support two worthy causes.

The charitable arm of the Calgary Flames Hockey Club; the Flames Foundation for Life which directs proceeds to four different areas – Rotary/Flames House; a youth hospice located next the Children’s Hospital, Rotary/Flames Park – a park at the Ronald McDonald House, REACH! – programs for medical advancement and then amateur sport programs.

As well, the tournament will help support the Children's Link Society which is a family-centered, community-based, central access point of information for families of children with special needs in Calgary and area.

Their goal is to provide information and support links to families, communities, agencies and professionals in Western Canada for children and young adults with special needs.
