Sarich serves up smiles

by Staff Writer / Calgary Flames

Calgary, AB – Calgary Flames defenceman Cory Sarich will be serving up smiles as part of McDonalds’ fundraiser McHappy Day on Wednesday, May 11th. Sarich will be stationed for the early shift at the front of the restaurant serving customers at the Calgary Horizon location.

Date: Wednesday, May 11th, 2011

Location: Horizon McDonalds, 2740 – 32nd Ave N.E.

Time: 7:30 AM until 8:30 AM

On McHappy Day $1 from every Big Mac sandwich, Happy Meal and any sized coffee or tea sold in the restaurants are directed to Ronald McDonald House charities. This is the second consecutive year Sarich has participated in McHappy Day.

The Ronald McDonald House is a partner of the Calgary Flames charitable arm; the Flames Foundation for Life. One of four pillars of the Flames Foundation for Life includes Rotary/Flames Park – a two acre oasis that includes a tots’ playground, team play area and quiet garden retreats surrounds the Ronald McDonald House. The house is a compassionate, safe and affordable home-away-from-home for out-of-town families whose children are in treatment at a Calgary hospital.

The Flames Foundation for Life continues to touch the lives of thousands of people through its commitment to education, medical research, health, amateur sports and recreation.
