Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames are proud to partner in the Ceremonial Grand Opening of Ronald McDonald House Southern Alberta on Wednesday, March 21st. Ronald McDonald House is a compassionate, safe and affordable home away from home for out-of-town families whose children are receiving treatment in a Calgary hospital. The new Ronald McDonald House is surrounded by Rotary/Flames Park - a two acre oasis that includes a tots' playground, team play area and many quiet garden retreats.
With the addition of Rotary/Flames Park, the House will now be able to run outdoor programs and families will be able to play at a park that will be both safe and clean. The area, framed by several trees, provides privacy and a quiet sanctuary for families visiting the House.
After many years of hard work it is time to celebrate this great accomplishment and beautiful facility for families with sick children. Following the Ceremonial Grand Opening, the Flames Foundation for Life and Rotary Clubs of Calgary will be hosting a BBQ Lunch in Rotary/Flames Park.
