Heard around the Flames dressing room after Tuesday's morning skate

On the trade deadline:

"With the acquisitions of Bart and Stony, that our room is feeling like we've had our trade deadline … it gave us a little bit of a boost. It gave us a boost for sure. We brought in two quality people and solidified a little bit of depth on defence. I don't think that trade deadline is really affecting our guys. When you're in that room, they feel pretty focused on the task at hand and these next 19 games."

- Glen Gulutzan

On players keeping up on trades around the league:

"Ya, I mean you pay attention. There's been some big trades in the last couple of days. I think between social media and it being on the TV you don't miss too many. So, you pay attention for sure."

- Mark Giordano

"You always talk about it. These last three or four days it starts to heat up, guys talk about it and you check it out, where guys are going. I know personally I always try and stay away from reading anything because when I was younger and I did my name always seemed to come up. For me, I know the best thing is to stay away from that stuff, but it is always an exciting time of the year, especially for the fans."

- Kris Versteeg

On giving their two cents on deals:

"We're just like you, you know, we talk about it and we rant about it. Everyone kind of gives their opinion, but we'll keep that in the bus, you know, when we talk about it. It is what it is, but we talk about it just as much probably as the people do. "

- Versteeg

"We're hockey fans, too, we know what's going on. I think anybody that says they shut if off or don't know, they'd be lying. We're around it, we're in Canada, it's everywhere we go. It's an exciting time for hockey fans, for sure, and everybody does the round-table, whether we're at dinner together, or you're with your buddies, just like the media does. It's just natural."

- Matt Stajan

Gaudreau on snapping out of scoring funk in Carolina:

"I don't think much has changed. I think I finally found the net a few times which is nice, and I'm making plays, keeping things simple and playing the right away which is great.

"It's great to find the net there. I know it's been awhile … but it was great to find it there and took a little (pressure) off me and (I) just felt a little more relaxed."
