On Mar. 25, Adirondack forward Turner Elson suffered a concussion after taking spill during a fight with Hamilton’s Bobby Shea and given that he was taken off the ice on a stretcher, it wouldn't have been a shock to see him out long-term.
Luckily, while he did have a concussion, he recovered very quickly and was fortunate enough not to go through the usual symptoms that accompany the malady.
This week, he returned to the Flames lineup and it didn't look like he missed a beat, scoring two goals, posting three points, and firing 14 shots on net in three outings.
On Friday, Elson scored the game-winner in a 3-2 victory over the Utica Comets and was credited with six shots on net in the win.
The following night, he picked up the primary assist on Kenney Morrison's third period goal in a 5-2 setback to the Lake Erie Monsters.
Elson closed out the week by scoring his 16th goal of the season at the 13:10 mark of the second period. He was named the third star in a 4-1 loss to the Monsters on Sunday.
In 56 games with Adirondack this season, Elson has 16 goals and 28 points. He sits second on the team with 144 shots on net this year.
