Prospect Of The Week: Emile Poirier

by Torie Peterson / Calgary Flames

With five points in three games last week, Calgary Flames prospect Emile Poirier is now tied for the team lead in points amongst current Adirondack Flames skaters.

The 20-year-old now has 36 points (17 goals, 19 assists) in 50 games with Adirondack, a total matched only by David Wolf and Kenny Agostino.

Poirier kicked off the week with a goal and an assist in Adirondack's 7-4 setback to the Texas Stars on Apr. 1. The winger collected the primary assist on Bill Arnold's opening tally and then brought the Flames within a goal with a third period marker at 15:02.

The following night, Poirier helped set up Adirondack's fourth goal of the night -- pulling them within a single goal late in the game -- in a 5-4 loss to the San Antonio Rampage. He also fired four shots on net that night.

The Montreal, QC native finished off the week with a goal and an assist in a 7-3 victory over San Antonio on Saturday. He netted a power play marker in the opening stanza and was credited with the primary assist on Dustin Stevenson's second period goal. Poirier was named the game's second star for his efforts.

Poirier and the Flames continue their push for a playoff spot this week when they face off against Toronto, Utica, and Lake Erie.
