DALLAS - The Flames will make some lineup changes this evening when they take on the Stars at the American Airlines Center.
The shuffling, according to interim head coach Geoff Ward, is based on their opponent this evening.
"Sometimes, you don't make decisions based on what a guy's not doing - sometimes you make a decision based on tailoring your lineup to the opposition," he said following the team's pre-game skate.
"For us, it's more of this case more than anything else. We want to get a little bit of bigger lineup in there, a little bit more of a physical presence in our lineup. We made the switches that we feel are going to give us that opporunity to have that look."
With Zac Rinaldo, Mark Jankowski, and Michael Stone sliding back in, expect Michael Frolik, Dillon Dube, and Oliver Kylington to sit as healthy scratches.
Here is tonight's projected lineup:
FORWARDS
Johnny Gaudreau - Sean Monahan - Mikael Backlund
Matthew Tkachuk - Elias Lindholm - Andrew Mangiapane
Milan Lucic - Derek Ryan - Sam Bennett
Zac Rinaldo - Mark Jankowski - Tobias Rieder
DEFENCE
Mark Giordano - TJ Brodie
Noah Hanifin - Travis Hamonic
Michael Stone - Rasmus Andersson
GOALTENDER
David Rittich
