The Flames kick off the 2020-21 season this evening when they take on the Winnipeg Jets at 6:00 PM MT (Sportsnet West, Sportsnet 960 The FAN).
With plenty of new faces in the mix, head coach Geoff Ward tinkered with his lines and pairings throughout the two-week training camp, looking at a multitude of combinations to find the best fit.
While there are plenty of new looks up front, one combo that will likely stick together is Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan, who skated alongside newcomer Josh Leivo this morning.
"Extremely excited about that," Gaudreau said of remaining on a line with Monahan. "He's a close buddy off the ice and have played pretty much every game since I've been here together.
"We're really confident in each other and we're excited to get this thing going, because there aren't too many other players in this league that I want as my centreman. We're fired up about this year and we both want to have success."
Check out the Flames' projected lineup against the Jets, based on the lines and pairings used during the morning skate:

Lines

Johnny Gaudreau - Sean Monahan - Josh Leivo
Matthew Tkachuk - Elias Lindholm - Dillon Dube
Andrew Mangiapane - Mikael Backlund - Dominik Simon / Derek Ryan
Milan Lucic - Sam Bennett - Joakim Nordstrom
Ahead of tonight's game, the Flames activated Derek Ryan from the taxi squad roster. During the morning skate, he rotated with Dominik Simon in line rushes and may be in tonight's lineup.
