SEASON SERIES: The Calgary Flames have a 2-0-0 record in this year's three-game season series with the Minnesota Wild. Johnny Gaudreau, Mikael Backlund and Kris Versteeg scored the Flames' regulation goals and Sean Monahan netted a shootout winner over the Wild this year. Wednesday's game is the final match-up between the clubs in the regular season.
WILD TEAM SCOPE: The Wild are playing their second game in as many nights, coming off of a 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. Tyler Graovac scored twice and Darcy Kuemper made 41 saves in that victory, which gives the Wild 71 points on the year. They sit first in the Central Division, six points ahead of second-place Chicago. Mikael Granlund leads the team in scoring with 12 goals and 43 points on the year. Devan Dubnyk, who was one of this year's NHL All-Stars, has a 27-8-3 record with a 1.88 GAA and a .936 save percentage.
FLAMES' TEAM SCOPE: The Flames went into the All-Star break with a 3-2 overtime win over the Senators on Jan. 26. Monahan and Micheal Ferland scored in regulation and Gaudreau added the game-winner in the extra frame. Brian Elliott made 25 saves in the victory. He is expected to get the start on Wednesday as head coach Glen Gulutzan noted the team will go with a 'win, you're in' rotation in net prior to the break. With last week's win, the Flames kept themselves in a Wildcard spot in the Western Conference with 53 points on the year.
