CALGARY, AB -- The Adirondack Flames will have two players at the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic as winger Emile Poirier and goaltender Joni Ortio have been named to the Western Conference All-Star roster.
The All-Star Classic takes place on Jan. 25-26 in Utica, NY.
Poirier is tied for the team leading in scoring with 10 goals and 20 points in 28 games this season. The Adirondack rookie is averaging 0.71 points-per-game, which leads all Flames skaters. He was drafted in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
Ortio, who is in the midst of his second professional season, holds a 16-8-1 record with a 2.54 GAA and a .915 save percentage in 26 appearances this year. He has stopped 685 of the 749 shots he has faced this season. The Finn was the Flames' sixth round (171st overall) selection in the 2009 NHL Draft.
The Adirondack Flames currently sit second in the AHL's North Division with a 21-14-2 record and 44 points in the year. They are fourth overall in the AHL's Western Conference.
