Forward Chris Simon was acquired after a trade with the New York Rangers, along with a 7th round draft pick in 2004, for Jamie McLennan, Blair Betts and Greg Moore on March 6, 2004.
Prior to his time with the Flames, Simon skated alongside players in Quebec, Washington, Chicago and New York.
The Ontario born native played in 16 playoff games during the Flames' run for the Cup, posting seven points, including five goals and two assists. During the 2003-04 season, Simon finished first on the Flames and second in the NHL in penalty minutes, with 250.

Pick one word to describe yourself?
If you weren't a hockey player, what would you be doing?
Simon: Probably guiding for fishing or hunting or both.
It's a Saturday night and you're not playing hockey. What would you be doing?
Simon: Hopefully I'll get a chance to go to a movie with my wife, but usually I'll be at home with the kids.
What's your favourite food?
What's your favourite Calgary Restaurant?
Who is your favourite band right now?
What is your favourite television show?
Simon: I like Desperate Housewives.
What was the first car you owned?
Simon: A Chevrolet Chevette. ('79 Orange)
Which pro athlete would you most like to spend time with?
Simon: Muhammad Ali. I think he's the greatest in his sport and also in what he did in his beliefs. I really respect that and I like that he stood up for what he believed was right, even though it wasn't what everyone else thought was right at the time to do, but that's why I would really like to meet him.
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Simon: I like to go on a trip to Europe sometime, and also I'd love to go to Brazil or the Amazon. I know people that are from Brazil and met some people in California that are from there and they talk a lot about the Amazon and the fishing in the rivers, so I would like to go there someday.
You have a few hours to kill. Do you read a book or play a video game?
Simon: Read a book.
Playstation or X-Box?
Worst job you've ever had?
Simon: I'd have to say my first job; it was delivering newspapers. It didn't matter if it rained or snowed or was cold or hot, you still had to deliver them, so I think that was one of the worst jobs I've ever had.
