Pardy re-signs with Flames
by Mike Board / Calgary FlamesAnd Pardy couldn't be happier.
Pardy, a native of Bonavista, Newfoundland, completed his first NHL campaign registering one goal and nine assists in 60 regular season game before adding two assist during six playoff games.
"This is where I wanted to be after last year," said Pardy. "I really like the fans and city."
Pardy grew by leaps and bounds throughout his rookie NHL campaign and he hopes that growth continues.
"I think they (the Flames) were pretty confident with the way things developed last season and over the last four years," he said from his home in Newfoundland. "The next step is continuing to grow and continuing to get better. Obviously there is a lot to learn. I only have 60 games in the league.
'We've got a lot of great players and that is where I can learn. I want to be able to play against the top players in the league and be an impct player. It's only going to help the team if I can get there."
On the same day that Pardy re-signed, the Flames formally introduced Jay Bouwmeester, the lastest piece in the Flames defensive puzzle.
"It's another great player added to the d-core," said Pardy. "He's a great player. Everyone around the league knows that."
