DES MOINES, IA -- Calgary Flames prospect Joni Ortio made 25 saves and collected his first AHL shutout on Saturday night as the Abbotsford Heat downed the Iowa Wild by a score of 4-0.
Ortio, the Flames sixth round pick in the 2009 NHL Draft, was named first star for his efforts.
Paul Byron, Brady Lamb and Markus Granlund had multi-point nights in the victory. Byron led the way with one goal and a pair of assists while Lamb and Granlund both scored one goal and one assist.
Corban Knight also chipped in for the Heat, scoring his seventh goal of the year.
The Heat close out their marathon seven-game road swing on Sunday evening, taking on the Iowa Wild at 4:05 PM MST.
