Flames alumnus Sheldon Kennedy and NHL alumnus Lindsay Carson will join Brad at Calaway Park at 1:30pm MST on Thursday May 3rd and ride alongside him into the city. While in Calgary, Brad will host a floor hockey game and fundraising event at the Boys and Girls Club (713 13th Ave NE) from 4:00-6:00pm. Current Calgary Flames’ defenceman, Derek Smith will team up with Brad for the game. In addition, the Flames Foundation for Life and the Flames Alumni have made a donation in support of the Boys and Girls Club.
Marsh was originally drafted by the Atlanta Flames in the 1978 NHL Entry Draft and following two seasons in Atlanta, he was a member of the Calgary Flames for the inaugural season in 1980-81. The first player to represent Calgary as team captain, Marsh played 97 games over two seasons in Calgary before being traded to Philadelphia in the 1981-82 season. He also played with Toronto, Detroit and Ottawa during 15 seasons and 1086 games in the NHL. He is currently the President of the Ottawa Senators Alumni Association.
Following the philosophy he shares with others to “Work Hard - Do Your Best - Have Fun,” Brad is riding across Canada to raise awareness and funds for this important youth charity. The mission of the Boys & Girls Club is to provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.
