This month in the Scotiabank Saddledome Ignite Test Kitchen we go Down Under for awesome Aussie-inspired food

by For @NHLFlames /

Nothing warms our hearts more than a good #hockeyhug between Dave Rittich and Matthew Tkachuk.

A close second - Aussie inspired Beef and Cheese pie from the Ignite Test Kitchen. It's a Puff pastry with savory beef filling and cheese all for just $9 - is your mouth watering yet?

Each month an outside restaurant takes over the Scotiabank Saddledome Test Kitchen and serves a different themed menu. This month's theme is 'Down Under'. Skip the 19-hour flight with the accompanying jet lag and enjoy some wholesome Australian inspired food. Have you ever had an Aussie burger? It's a seasoned beef patty, pickled beets, grilled pineapple, fried egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato with mayo on a house made milk bun. Try it yourself for just $12.

If there's something we can all agree on, there's no better way to finish off a meal than with some great ice cream. Satisfy your cravings with the Hokey Pokey ice cream: house made vanilla ice cream with honeycomb, served in a waffle cone for $7 - I'll take two!

How does that Friday Night Lights quote go, - clear eyes, full stomachs, can't lose? Check out the Test Kitchen before the month's end to enjoy the full 'Down Under' experience. Golden tan not included.

Next month's Test Kitchen will have your sweet tooth on cloud 9. Featuring cheesecake bites, frozen banana, rice Crispy and marshmallow all dipped in melted chocolate plus more items coming soon.
