Defenceman Keegan Kanzig suited up for 63 games with the Victoria Royals in the 2013-14 campaign. It was his third season in Victoria.
Kanzig, known as a stay-at-home defenceman, recorded three goals in the regular season. That is a new career-high. He scored his first career WHL goal on Oct. 12, 2013 in a game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
Kanzig's eight regular season points is also a new career-high.
The hulking blueliner was assessed 99 penalty minutes this past season. His career-high came last year when he had 159 PIM.
Kanzig played in season postseason dates this year, recording one assist and 17 penalty minutes. He was a plus-two in the playoffs.
Kanzig is 19 years old.
The Flames drafted Kanzig in the third round of the 2013 NHL Draft. He was the 67th overall pick.
