CALGARY, AB -- Calgary Flames prospect Pavel Karnaukhov is set to play in the KHL in the 2016-17 season.
The forward, who was drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 NHL Draft, has signed a professional contract with HC CSKA Moscow.
Karnaukhov spent the past two seasons in the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen, amassing 42 points in 69 games in 2014-15 and 31 points in 49 games in 2015-16. The Hitmen selected the Minsk, Belarus product 56th overall in the 2014 CHL Import Draft.
Prior to his time in WHL, Karnaukhov played for Krasnaya Armiya Moskva in the MHL in Russia.
