BOSTON, MA -- The Calgary Flames will go with Chad Johnson tonight when they take on the Boston Bruins at 5:30 PM MT (SNW, FAN960).
It will be Johnson's 11th start this season and his third start on the Flames' road six-game road trip. He is coming off a 34-save shutout performance in the 2-0 Flames win in Columbus on Wednesday. He has a 6-3-1 record with a 2.08 GAA and a .922 save percentage this season.
"He's earned some time to play here," head coach Glen Gulutzan said on Thursday when asked about his tandem of Johnson and Brian Elliott. "That's a good thing. I like it more of a competition ... these are the most competitive athletes you can get. It's good to have a little competition. But Johnny's earned, with his good play, some starts."
Johnson spent the 2013-14 season with the Bruins, going 17-4-3 with two shutouts, a 2.10 GAA and a .925 save percentage
