Snoop Dogg, the NHL Skills Competition, Jagger Burns ... it was a busy day in LA

What a day!

The NHL All-Star Weekend has already been a blast and we're only half way through it. Today was the Skills Competition, which we nearly won thanks to some big-time performances from my Pacific Division teammates! Burnzie scored top shelf from center ice, Mike Smith had an incredible goal from all the way down the ice and Connor McDavid nearly set a new Fastest Skater record. It was quite the afternoon in LA.

But it the Skills Competition was just a part of busy afternoon.

I started out the day with our usual All-Star media gathering. In addition to talking about the weekend, I had some great conversations about Boston College and the upcoming Beanpot tournament (go BC!).

After a quick lunch, I made a stop at the NHL Network station down in LA Live. It's a pretty cool set-up, so if you're in LA make sure to swing by and see it.

I headed over to the Staples Center to get ready for the Skills Competition and we had a special guest come in before the events: Snoop Dogg! It was awesome to meet him, he's such a nice guy.

After the Skills Competition, our Flames TV crew set up an interview with me, my buddy Brent Burns and his son Jagger. It was awesome to meet Jagger and hang out with him - he played on a team called the Flames last year and is a Gio fan too. I'm sure Jagger will be around for tomorrow's games and I can't wait to hang out with him a bit more.

Now I'm headed out to spend some time with my family - I'll check in again tomorrow!
