CALGARY, AB -- Calgary Flames prospects Mark Jankowski, Jon Gillies, and John Gilmour are headed to the Hockey East semi-finals at TD Garden in Boston on Mar. 21.
Providence College swept Maine in the quarter-finals, taking Game 1 by a score of 3-1 and Game 2 by a score of 4-2.
Jankowski was pivotal in Game 1, scoring a goal and an assist for the Friars, and was named the first star. Gillies collected second star honours in Game 1 thanks to his 34 saves. Gilmour, who leads all Providence defencemen in scoring this season, picked up an assist in the win.
Gillies was a pillar of strength for Providence in Game 2, making 36 saves on 38 shots. Both Jankowski and Gilmour fired two shots on net in the win.
Jankowski was the Flames first round pick in 2012, Gillies was selected in the third round in 2012, and Gilmour was drafted in the seventh round in the 2013 NHL Draft.
