CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Inferno have acquired goaltender Geneviève Lacasse from the Boston Blades, fulfilling the trade that sent Tara Watchorn to Boston in 2014.

Lacasse played a large part in Boston's success during her four-year tenure with the Blades. She won the Clarkson Cup in 2012-13 and 2014-15, was named the CWHL Goaltender of the Year Award in 2012-13 and was the CWHL Regular Season Goaltending Champion in 2014-15.

Prior to joining the Blades, Lacasse spent four years at Providence College. She set multiple school records during her collegiate career including most wins (64), most games played (127), most saves (3482) and most shutouts (20). She also served as the team's captain in her senior season.

In addition to Providence records, she was honoured on numerous occasions; she was the Hockey East Rookie of the Year in 2008-09, named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team in 2008-09, named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Month in October of 2010, tabbed as the 2011 Providence Team MVP, named to the Providence Hockey East All- Decade Team, was a New England Hockey Writer's All-Star selection in 2012, and was named to the Hockey East All-Tournament team in 2012.
