CALGARY, AB -- Calgary Flames defenceman Chris Butler squared off against Finland on Wednesday with the Americans picking up a 4-1 win.

Butler picked up his first point of the tournament with an assist on Craig Smith's first period tally. The blueliner logged 14:31 of ice time and was a plus-two.

Flames prospect Joni Ortio backed up Antti Raanta in Finland's net.

Finland's next game goes Friday as they try to take down a powerful Russian squad who have gone 3-0-0 thus far. The Americans follow up their win over Finland with a game against France on Saturday.

Reto Berra backed up veteran Martin Gerber on Wednesday as Switzerland topped Slovenia 7-1 to win their fourth straight game at the tournament. Gerber only faced 14 shots in the thumping. The Swiss are back in action on Saturday, taking on Denmark.

Jiri Hudler and the Czech Republic play Denmark and TJ Brodie and Canada face Sweden on Thursday.
