Iginla hits the airwaves with Chevy and Nasty

by Staff Writer / Calgary Flames
Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla gets interviewed a lot. In Calgary and in every National Hockey League city he travels to with the team. He does print interviews, television interviews and radio interviews.

But this week he had a different kind of interview to do. He was interviewed by other athletes. Specifically the comical Calgary Stampeder pair of Randy Chevrier and Sheldon Napastuk who host The Chevy and Nasty Show on The Fan 960.

And, while Iginla is very accustomed to answering serious questions about the Flames and the NHL, this offered him a chance to have some fun. One of the questions was which player on the Flames he would want on his pirate ship. (Iginla chose goalie Jamie McLennan).

"I enjoyed the football players for a change," smiled Iginla when asked by media how the interview went.

Chevy and Nasty were equally complimentary to Iginla, who proved to be most accommodating in the interview.

The pair of football players got an added bonus -- they were invited to sit down with Flames head coach Jim Playfair and discuss everything from leadership to practice habits.
