- The Flames won both games in their 2013-14 season series with the Carolina Hurricanes, picking up a 2-1 OT win in Calgary on Dec. 12, 2013 and a 2-0 victory in Raleigh on Jan. 13, 2014.

- Paul Byron led the Flames in scoring in their season series with Hurricanes, notching three assists in a pair of games. Mikael Backlund trailed him with one goal and two points in two games.

- Karri Ramo was in net for both games against Carolina last year, posting a 0.48 GAA and a .981 save percentage. He allowed one goal on 53 shots.

- Jeff Skinner was the only Hurricane to score on the Flames last season.

- Dennis Wideman leads all Flames skaters in career points against the Hurricanes with 14 in 27 games.

- The Flames all-time record against the Hurricanes, including Atlanta and Hartford records, is 40-17-7-1. Since the Flames moved to Calgary, they are 25-5-2-0 at home against the Hurricanes.

- Calgary leads the NHL in blocked shots with 143 through eight games. Montreal trails them with 126.

- Curtis Glencross leads the Flames in hits with 23 while Brandon Bollig is second amongst Calgary skaters with 22.

- Kris Russell is second in the NHL in blocked shots with 27. Buffalo's Josh Gorges leads all skaters with 30.

- Mikael Backlund and Johnny Gaudreau are the Flames takeaway leaders through eight games this season. Backlund is credited with seven while Gaudreau has six to his name.

- TJ leads the Flames in average ice time at 25:14 per game. Mark Giordano is second amongst Calgary skaters, averaging 24:16 through the first eight games.
