Hitmen trounce Cougars 7-2

CALGARY - Carson McMillan scored twice to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 7-2 win over the Prince George Cougars in Western Hockey League action Wednesday night.

Ian Schultz had a goal and an assist for the Hitmen (8-3-0-0), while Brett Sonne, Brendan Rowinski and Chase Schaber also scored. Rookie defenceman Austin Madaisky added his first-ever WHL goal, while Keith Seabrook chipped in with three assists.

Alex Poulter and Brian Matte scored for the Cougars (6-4-0-0), who have won all five games they've played on home ice while going 1-4 on the road.

Calgary goalie Martin Jones made 14 saves, including one on a third-period penalty shot by Cougar forward Brett Connolly.

Prince George netminder Kevin Armstrong stopped 25 of 32 shots he faced before being relieved in the third period by Joe Caligiuri, who made five saves.
