Hitmen take down Moose Jaw

CALGARY - Brendan Rowinski had a goal and two assists as the Calgary Hitmen edged the Moose Jaw Warriors 5-4 to win their fourth straight Western Hockey League game on Friday night.

Ian Schultz scored once and set up another for the Hitmen (12-3-0-0), while Michael Stone and Kyle Bortis also scored. Carson McMillan and Brett Sonne each had two assists.

Joel Broda scored twice for the Warriors (5-7-0-1), while defenceman Ryan Stanton had a goal and two assists. Former Hitmen forward Ian Duval scored his first goal of the season in his second game for the Warriors since being traded earlier this month.

Calgary goalie Martin Jones made 29 saves to improve to 6-1 this season. Moose Jaw netminder Deven Dubyk stopped just six of nine shots he faced in the first period before being replaced by Todd Mathews, who made 22 saves and was tagged with the loss.
