Hickey collects goal in Canadian trouncing of Czech Republic

CALGARY, AB -- Calgary Flames prospect Brandon Hickey contributed a goal in Canada's 7-1 victory over the Czech Republic on Tuesday at the World Junior Showcase at the Markin MacPhail Centre.

Hickey, who was the Flames third round selection in 2014, scored Canada's fifth goal of the evening.

Canada also received goals from Rourke Chartier, Jake Virtanen (2), Haydn Fleury, and Brayden Point (2). Filip Chlapik scored the lone goal for the Czech Republic.

Hickey will be back in action on Wednesday when Canada squares off against Russia at 8:00 PM MT. Mason McDonald, Calgary's second round pick in 2014, is expected to back-up Sam Montembeault in net.
