CALGARY, AB -- Calgary Flames prospect Brandon Hickey helped Boston University capture its 30th Beanpot title on Monday night, with the Terriers downing the Northeastern Huskies 4-3 in overtime.
Boston University had a 3-1 lead in the third period but two Northeastern goals less than two minutes apart late in the game force the championship match-up into extra time.
Matt Grzelcyk, who also netted a second period goal, scored the game-winner at the 0:51 second mark of overtime.
Hickey put six shots on net, tying Jack Eichel for the team lead. The freshman also recorded a game-high five blocked shots to raise his team-leading total this season to 63.
Through 30 games, Hickey has five goals and 14 points. He has put 86 shots on net and is a plus-17 on the year. The Flames drafted the Leduc, AB native in the third round (64th overall) in 2014.
