by Torie Peterson / Calgary Flames

Brandon Hickey, the Calgary Flames third round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, could cap off his freshman season with Boston University with a national championship.

On Thursday, Hickey and the Terriers pushed themselves into the title game at the Frozen Four with a 5-3 win over North Dakota in the semi-final.

Hickey picked up a goal in the victory, a one-timer on the power play in the first period, and now has six tallies and 17 points in 40 games.

Boston University will face off against Providence College for the NCAA Championship on Saturday at the TD Garden. The title game will feature four Flames prospects as goaltender Jon Gillies (third round - 2012 NHL Draft), forward Mark Jankowski (first round - 2012 NHL Draft), and defenceman John Gilmour (seventh round - 2013 NHL Draft) all play for Providence.

Playing in its 22nd Frozen Four, BU is now 41-33-0 all-time in the NCAA tournament. The Terriers and Friars will be taking part in the first all-Hockey East final since 1999.
