CALGARY, AB -- The Abbotsford Heat have received contributions from their rookies all season and this past week, first-year pro Josh Jooris provided some very timely scoring for his team.
After opening their six-game road swing with two losses, the Heat were looking to rebound in a game against the San Antonio Rampage on Saturday night. They fell behind 2-1 but Jooris, who had earned a promotion to the Heat's top line, found the back of net in the third period to tie the game and send it into extra time. Ben Street end up scoring the game-winner in overtime and Abbotsford was able to snap a four-game losing skid.
Jooris' timely tally ended a five-game scoring drought for the forward, who now has four goals and 13 points in 36 games this season.
