Markus Granlund opened the scoring at 11:31 of the first period while the Heat were on the power play. Max Reinhart and Kane Lafranchise assisted on Granlund's 14th goal this season.

Gabriel Dumont played the hero for the Bulldogs, tying the game up in the second period and scoring the go-ahead goal early in the third frame. Maxime Macenauer added an empty-net goal to ice the win for Hamilton.
