by Staff Writer / Calgary Flames
Calgary Flames winger Curtis Glencross, Penn West Energy and Calgary Crime Stoppers announced the first annual Glencross Invitational.

The charity golf event will begin on Monday, July 27th with a hospitality registration and live auction at Flames Central, followed by golf at Springbank Links Golf Club on Tuesday, July 28th.

The first annual Glencross Invitational will be held in July, 2009
“I’m extremely proud to be hosting this tournament. The two day event is for a great cause that I am already looking forward to being a part of,” says Glencross.

Crime Stoppers is a citizen, media and police cooperative program specifically designed to involve the public in the fight against crime. Crime Stoppers offers citizens an effective way to anonymously provide information about a crime or the potential of a crime.

“We are extremely enthusiastic to have Curtis Glencross support this initiative. Proceeds from the Glencross Invitational in support of Calgary Crime Stoppers Association ‘solving crime one tip at a time’ initiative, will be used specifically to heightened community awareness by educating citizens on the options available for making anonymous tips and valuable leads on crimes," says Roger Monette, Tournament Chair and Vice President of Calgary Crime Stoppers Association.
