Giordano, Gaudreau to attend NHL All-Star Weekend

CALGARY, AB -- Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano and rookie Johnny Gaudreau will be heading to Columbus, OH on Jan. 23-25 for the NHL All-Star Weekend.

Teams will be selected at the 2015 NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft presented by DraftKings on Jan. 23. The two captains who will pick the teams will be announced next week.

The teams will be coached by Peter Laviolette of the Nashville Predators and Darryl Sutter of the Los Angeles Kings.

In 42 games this season, Giordano has 10 goals and 36 points and is tied for the NHL lead in scoring amongst defenceman. He will take part in the All-Star Skills Competition on Jan.

24 and play in the All-Star Game will be played Jan. 25 at Nationwide Arena.

This marks Giordano's first appearance at the NHL All-Star Game.

Gaudreau has 13 goals and 31 points in 41 games this year, which is second amongst all NHL rookies. The winger is one of six rookies who will participate NHL All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 24.
