CALGARY, AB -- Three Calgary Flames prospects were named to the USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp final roster on Monday, getting them one step closer to landing a spot on Team USA's U20 World Junior Championship squad.
Winger Johnny Gaudreau, defenceman Patrick Sieloff and netminder Jon Gillies all survived the final cuts on Tuesday morning. Sieloff and Gillies were drafted by the Flames this year, in the second and third round respectively, while Gaudreau was selected by Calgary in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Draft.
All three suited up for USA Blue's exhibition tilt against Finland yesterday. USA Blue pulled off a 5-4 victory with Gaudreau and Sieloff both picking up points.
Sieloff assisted on Mario Lucia's first period goal after he wired a hard shot on net, setting up the rebound opportunity. Gaudreau earned the primary assist on Alex Galchenyuk's third period marker after a great tic-tac-toe passing play.
Gillies played the second half of the game, spelling off John Gibson. He allowed three goals and faced nine shots.
The USA will square off against Finland on Wednesday at 2:00 PM MT.
