Calgary Flames prospect and Boston College forward Johnny Gaudreau has been named one of the three 2013 Hobey Baker finalists.
The 19 year-old sophomore is coming off back-to-back 21 goal seasons, led Hockey East in scoring with 51 points in 35 games and led the nation with a 1.46 points-per-game average.
Amongst his numerous accolades this season are the Hockey East Republic Player of the Year award, the New England Hockey Writers Association Leonard Fowle award, the New England Hockey Writers Association Herb Gallagher award and being unanimously selected to the Hockey East First-Team All Star team.
The other two finalists are St. Cloud State forward Drew LeBlanc and Quinnipiac netminder Eric Hartzell. Both teams are off to the Frozen Four next week in Pittsburgh.
Voting for the Hobey Baker Award has already been totaled from among the members of the selection committee. The winner will be announced Friday, Apr. 12, 2013 from Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. It will be aired live on the NHL Network at 8 PM MT.
