For the second consecutive week a pair of Flames prospects were recognized by Hockey East on Monday.
Boston College sophomore, Johnny Gaudreau was named as the Athletic Republic player of the week. Gaudreau recorded four points (2g,2a) in a four-point weekend for the Eagles. He tallied two points (1g,1a) in each win at UMass and vs. New Hampshire where he scored the overtime game-winner in the team's 5-4 win on Friday. He finished the weekend with 11 shots on goal and a +3 rating.
Jon Gillies, freshman goaltender with Providence College was named Pro Ambitions rookie of the week. Gillies posted a .914 save percentage and a 2.34 GAA with 53 saves in 128:02 of work at No. 4 Miami in the two-game series. He stopped 27 of 28 shots to lead the Friars to a 1-1 overtime tie on Friday night.
