by Torie Peterson / Calgary Flames

CALGARY, AB -- Game 1 of Boston College's quarter-final match-up with Notre Dame didn't go in their favour, falling 7-2, but Calgary Flames prospect Johnny Gaudreau was able keep his point streak alive in the loss.

Gaudreau assisted on Patrick Brown's third period goal to push his point streak to 30 games. He is now one game shy of the Hockey East record, set by Paul Kariya in 1992. The forward has scored 27 goals and 30 assists in his torrid streak.

The Carneys Point, NJ product has 30 goals and 35 helpers in 35 games this season. The Flames selected the winger in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Draft. He is in his junior year at Boston College.

Game 2 between Boston College and Notre Dame comes on Saturday night.
