CALGARY, AB -- For the third time in the last four seasons, the Boston College Eagles have captured the Hockey East regular season title and a pair of Calgary Flames prospects have played a big part in their success this year.
Johnny Gaudreau, considered a front-runner for this year's Hobey Baker Award, leads the entire nation in scoring with 27 goals and 61 points in 31 games. Bill Arnold, who is in his senior season at Boston College, has 12 goals and 44 points in 31 outings this year.
The pair play on a line with Chicago Blackhawks prospect Kevin Hayes, a combination that has paid huge dividends for their club. The trio have now all scored at least one point in 15 of their lasts 17 games as a line together. All three scored a goal against Vermont on Saturday and have now totaled 38 goals and 53 assists for 91 total points and a +70 rating. The BC trio has skated in 17 games together starting on Dec. 6.
