Four Flames prospects headed to Frozen Four

by Torie Peterson / Calgary Flames

The Calgary Flames will be well-represented at the 2015 Frozen Four in Boston in April.

Brandon Hickey and the Boston University Terriers will face off against North Dakota on Apr. 9 thanks to their 3-2 win over Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday.

Hickey, the Flames third round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, put five shots on net and was a plus-one in the win. The freshman rearguard has five goals and 16 points in 39 games and is a plus-18 on the year.

Jon Gillies, John Gilmour, Mark Jankowski and the Providence College Friars punched their ticket to their first Frozen Four appearance since 1985 with a 4-1 victory over Denver on Sunday afternoon.

Gillies once again stood tall for the Friars in the East Regional Final, stopping 23 of 24 shots. The junior netminder is 22-13-3 this season with a 2.01 GAA and a .929 save percentage.

Providence will take on Omaha in the National Semifinal on Apr. 9.
