Flames trade skates for bowling shoes and charity

by Staff Writer / Calgary Flames
The Calgary Flames trade in their skates for bowling shoes in support of a great cause on January 9th.

Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta and the Calgary Flames Foundation for Life are proud to announce the Rhett Warrener & Friends Celebrity Bowl.

Rhett Warrener and the Calgary Flames along with other sports celebrities, such as Cassie Campbell and Doug Gilmour, will be in attendance at this sold out event.

The event will team up the sponsoring organizations with a celebrity and a family member who has stayed at Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta.

The Celebrity Bowl promises to be a fun filled day for everyone involved. Due to the popularity of this event and the resulting sellout of tickets, Frank Sisson’s will only be open to individuals participating in the event.

The Flames Foundation for Life is the charitable arm of the Calgary Flames through which more than $29 million dollars in funding has already been directed to education, health, medical research, amateur sport and recreation.

The Calgary Flames have extended their commitment to the community through an exciting partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Calgary known as the “Rotary/Flames Gift to the Community” - a $10 million donation to the community over five years!

Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta is a compassionate, safe and affordable home away from home for out-of-town families whose children are receiving treatment in a local Calgary hospital. The purpose of Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta is to keep families together and provide a supportive environment while the family member is being treated for their illness.
