The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed defenceman Yan Kuznetsov to a three-year entry-level contract.

Kuznetsov, a native of Murmansk, Russia, spent the last two seasons with the University of Connecticut. In a shortened 2020-21 season, Kuznetsov played 16 games for the Huskies, scoring one goal and adding five assists for six points. He also represented Russia at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championships Prior to joining the University of Connecticut, he spent one season with Sioux Falls (USHL), winning the 2019 Clark Cup Championship.
