Flames sign Versteeg to one-year contract

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed forward Kris Versteeg to a one-year contract.

Versteeg split the 2015-16 campaign between Carolina and Los Angeles and had 38 points (15G, 23A) over 77 games. The 30-year-old forward has played 550 games in the NHL over nine seasons and has 313 points (131G, 182A) and 322 penalty minutes, while amassing another 44 points (17G, 27A) and 66 PIMs in 89 post-season games. The Lethbridge, Alberta native has won a pair of Stanley Cups with the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2009-10 and 2014-15 seasons.
