Flames sign Stajan to a four-year deal
by Staff Writer / Calgary FlamesCALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed centre Matt Stajan to a four-year contract.
Stajan, a veteran of 693 career games, has amassed 116 goals and 212 assists for 328 points along with 372 penalty minutes. Currently in his fifth season with the Flames after being acquired in 2010 from Toronto, he has seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points in 41 games this season.
The Mississauga, ON native was awarded the 2013 Ralph T. Scurfield Humanitarian Award. The Scurfield Award is presented each year to the Flames player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, determination and leadership on the ice, combined with dedication to community service.
Contract terms: Four-year contract with an average annual value of $3.125 million.
