Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced Friday that the team has signed goaltender Curtis McElhinney, details of the contract were not disclosed.
McElhinney spent last year, his first full season in the NHL, as the backup to Miikka Kiprusoff
. McElhinney went 1-6 in 14 appearances with a goals-against average of 3.55, and an .889 save percentage. He won his first career NHL game against the Edmonton Oilers on the final day of the season, making 35 saves on 36 shots in a 4-1 Flames victory.
