Flames sign Josh Jooris

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed center Josh Jooris to a two-year, two-way entry level deal.

"Josh is a right shot center with size and skill,” said Flames General Manager Jay Feaster. “During our recent development camp he played an aggressive, up-tempo style and displayed good grit and a high compete level. Our staff felt strongly that we should attempt to get him signed, and we are pleased to welcome him to the organization. He will play for us in Penticton and then will be given an opportunity to compete for a spot at main camp."

Jooris, a native of Burlington, ON played the past three seasons with Union College of the ECAC. In his final collegiate season he finished 4th in team scoring with 28 points while his goals total of 12 placed him third on the club. Prior to his NCAA career, Jooris was the OJHL scoring champion with 116 points in 50 games during the 2009-10 campaign.

Contract Terms: Two-year entry level contract $832,500 / $70,000 per year and a signing bonus of $92,500 in each year for an AAV of $925,000.
