Flames sign Josh Jooris and Turner Elson to one-year deals

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed forwards Josh Jooris and Turner Elson to one-year contracts.

Jooris, a 25-year-old native of Burlington, Ontario played 60 games for Calgary in 2014-15 where he scored 12 goals and added 12 assists for 24 points. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by Calgary on July 30, 2013 and spent his first professional season in 2013-14 with the Abbotsford Heat where he put up 11 goals, 16 assists and 67 PIMs.

DRAFTED: Undrafted

ACQUIRED: Signed as a free agent on July 30, 2013.

Elson, a 22-year-old from St. Albert, Alberta spent the 2014-15 season with the Adirondack Flames of the AHL where he scored 17 goals and added 13 assists for 30 points in 59 games. The left winger has played parts of four seasons for Calgary’s AHL teams where he has featured in 99 games and recorded 33 points (19 goals, 14 assists).
