“When I spoke with Olli today, he was thrilled at the thought of returning to Calgary,” said Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter.

“He and his family enjoyed their time here. I believe that Olli and Alex complement each other and it was very important for us to be involved in signing both of these quality players. This really ties our center ice position together nicely. Adding Olli gives us a good mix at centre ice with Stajan, Langkow and Backlund.”

Jokinen, a 6’3”, 215 lbs centre will join the Flames for the second time after playing 75 games with the club during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons.

The Finnish native has played 881 NHL games with the Flames, Los Angeles Kings, New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, Phoenix Coyotes and New York Rangers scoring 252 goals and 316 assists for 568 points. Jokinen was a 1st round draft choice (3rd overall) in 1997 by the Los Angeles Kings.
