Flames sign forward Paul Byron

– The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed forward Paul Byron to a one year contract.

Byron, a native of Ottawa, Ontario, played 57 games with the Flames last season netting six goals and 13 assists for 19 points. In 138 career NHL games, Byron has recorded 17 goals and 31 assists for 48 points. Originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2007 NHL Draft, he was acquired by the Flames on June 25, 2011, along with Chris Butler, in exchange for Robyn Regehr, Ales Kotalik and a draft pick.
