Flames sign defenceman Brett Kulak

CALGARY, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed defenceman Brett Kulak from the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League to a three year entry level contract.

Kulak, a native of Stony Plain, AB, playing in his third full season with the Vancouver Giants, tied for eighth in WHL scoring among defencemen with 14 goals and 46 assists for 60 points and 51 penalty minutes in 69 games. Kulak played four games with the Abbotsford Heat at the conclusion of last season.

Contract terms: Three year entry level contract with an Average Annual Value of $816,667
