Flames set to honour 25th anniversary of the 1988 Olympics

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames, in support of the Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, will be honouring the 25th anniversary of the 1988 Winter Olympics on February 13th at the game against the Dallas Stars.

Fans are encouraged to showcase their pride by wearing any clothing or pins they have from the games. The1988 Olympic mascots “Hidy” and “Howdy” will be in attendance greeting fans throughout the night. Fans will also have the opportunity to take their picture alongside the Olympic Torch on the main concourse.

The Flames will commemorate the 1988 Winter Olympic Games with a special pre-game ceremonial puck drop. 1988 Olympic Athlete testimonials along with vignettes showcasing the highlights of the games will be aired throughout the night.

Various Olympic artifacts will be displayed on the concourse including outfits worn by the athletes for both the opening/closing ceremonies and what was worn by the more than 9,000 volunteers.

All Calgary Flames game tickets for February 13, 2013 versus the Dallas Stars can be redeemed for one free admission to Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame until Dec. 31, 2013 – located at Canada Olympic Park, check for hours of operation.
